The Inner World of An Introvert and The Journey About Cultivating Patience
"Patience is the bridge that connects your dreams to reality"
In a world that values speed and instant gratification, being an introvert can sometimes feel like swimming against the current. As someone who cherishes solitude and reflection, I have come to realise that patience is not just a virtue; it's an inherent strength; itβs a superpower in a world that often seems to value speed over stillness. It's a quality that allows us to understand the delicate balance between effort and surrender.
Picture this: me, a by the book definition introvert, shouting at a flower to bloom. Ridiculous, right? Well, that's exactly how I used to approach life before I discovered the power of patience. It wasn't until I enrolled in coaching school that I learned an essential lesson β they only plant the seeds; it's up to us to nurture our minds, personalities and allow ourselves to grow and blossom, personally and professionally.
Now, here's the interesting part β I'm not just an introvert, I'm also an avid gardener. And let me tell you, my plants have taught me a thing or two about patience. You see, plants don't rush to bloom overnight nor when you shout at them. They take their time, soaking up the sun, absorbing nutrients, and growing at their own pace. And just like my plants, patience has become my greatest strength, my secret virtue.
My garden-my pride
Before this realisation, I never considered myself a patient person. Waiting in line at the grocery store, queuing up in traffic or enduring long, boring meetings would drive me crazy. But then, I started connecting the dots. The universe has a way of revealing things to us in due time.
As I ventured into the world of business, transforming my passion for helping people into a livelihood, I quickly discovered that defining my "why" was far more important than focusing on the "what" and "how." It was a profound realisation that took time and reflection. The more I waited, the more things fell into place effortlessly, without me having to force anything.
However, not everyone around me understood my patient approach. People would eagerly ask, "How is your new business going?" And when I replied that I was still finding my way and taking my time, I could see the disappointment in their faces. But you know what? I didn't care. This time, I wasn't rushing. This time, I was doing things my way, the proper way.
In the past, I would want things to happen "yesterday" without considering the consequences or fully understanding the path I was embarking on. But coaching taught me the mindful way of doing things. It taught me to listen to my gut, follow my heart and let my mind guide me in harmony. I wanted to do it right this time, with intention and purpose, with a real mission.
And so, I embraced the waiting game β the art of allowing things to unfold naturally. It's funny how the universe works. When you're patient, doors open, connections are made, and opportunities arise. Good things truly do come to those who wait, just like the gardener and their plants.
As I write this blog post, my business is taking shape day by day. It's growing steadily, reflecting the care and dedication I've poured into it. I've learned that rushing won't get me where I want to be; instead, patience and mindful action will lead the way. Each step forward is purposeful, deliberate, and aligned with my values.
And here's a funny thing about meβI have a tattoo that reads in Sanskrit, "Everything happens for a reason." Now, when I got that inked on my skin a few years ago, I didn't fully understand the true meaning behind those words. But now, it serves as a reminder that sometimes, we just have to surrender to the unknown and trust that everything will unfold as it should.

Now, dear reader, it's time for some reflection. Are you giving yourself the patience you deserve? Are you allowing your own growth to unfold naturally? If not, I encourage you to take a step back and reassess. Find your values, embrace your strengths, and give yourself the gift of patience.
If you're struggling to find your way or need support in discovering your values and strengths, don't hesitate to reach out. Sometimes, all it takes is a helping hand to guide you on your path. Remember, just like the flower that blooms in its own time, your journey is unique, beautiful and worth the wait.
So, be patient with yourself. Shouting at a flower won't make it bloom. But nurturing it, giving it the time it needs and believing in its potential will result in a magnificent blossom. The same goes for you. Embrace your introverted nature, harness the power of patience, and watch yourself grow and flourish in ways you never thought possible.
"Every great dream begins with a patient dreamer."
